Half Elves Against Trelly

January 08

I remembered my blogger password! :D

When was the last update, August? Not quite as bad as I thought. I'm cheating like crazy here and making this blogpost do double duty for a guild update on the front page.

Guild Sum Up:
The usual MMORPG roller coaster of people coming and going, sometimes gracefully, sometimes falling out of the guild like sacks of potatoes off the back of the truck. The last batch felt like the truck hit a huge pothole - they pretty much bounced right off. :)

On the flip side, "when a door closes, a window opens" is true even for guilds. People leave, we struggle, then new folks come in and end up staying. :)

Raiding
- not too bad considering some of the hangups we run into from time to time & a short raid schedule. Also, Pawbuster stinks. Blech. /koga on "Stupid mutt!" /koga off

We're moving a bit slower then the "pack," but we are moving and moving is good.

I (noob) did not realize we didn't have to be fully flagged to head into T2 zones, so we went up to get the posts in Chardok and the zone in there has been added to the list of stuff to go check out.

We were short last week, so headed back into EH for a change of pace - the rangers can still use the Rigid Scale Bow & everyone could use the AA, so it was fun, for the most part. We still got a couple drops people could use, and the rest got transmuted.

I'd not put it on the list of "things to do" due to people leveling and the debt they would rack up if we hit a hard mob (and we did. *coughwoushicough*). That said, they cleared everything in the zone except Black Unicorn, the Bee and Woushi - the first two were not up (every other named was, though). Woushi ended up being a bit of mud on my face when I made a poor judgment call at 25% - I should have had people staying on him to burn him and the OT group holding the Grovebeast. I realized the minute we landed in the stream it was a mistake, and by that time it was too late. *shoot self in foot* The rest of the night was a chain reaction of bad luck - the best part was the 60s AE's staggered at 30s intervals, so we were doing Treyloth like call-ins from 50+ meters. lol "everyone in...out out out!"
The weekend was too packed with Real Life stuff to get back in there, so we had to let it go. GAAAAAAAAAAAARGH.

OK, on to the screenies!

No horses were harmed in the making of this picture.
The Fury, however...

Soul decided to organize a guild event called "gnome darts" a while back. Take your low level toons, a parachute pack and head to Tenebrous Tangle and make a game of getting to the harder to reach islands. It was a complete blast and there were many splattered gnomes.

Then someone said: lets go to Bonemire!
I offered my services to this nice chap waiting for his Labs raid.
Yes, I am a leaf on the wind, watch how I soar.

Then someone said "let's see how far we can train in Labs..."
Not too shabby for a bunch of level 2s (I think there was a lvl 30 or two in there).

Then Halloween rolled around (lol latest update EVER), we had a small party and a round of hide & seek in the Graveyard (then Peat Bog):

Shuu is green.

Valltor does his Amagdalen (sp?) imitation.

I came as Fu Manchu. :P

More costumes
More shrimpheads, a droag and I switched to the hamburgler brigand
Audra came as an annoying noob, pestering people for gold.
Cipriana, missing Batman and Robin
Of course, I got peppered with arrows.
That's...some...parry...

People were tricky about their hiding spots:
Shuu got mined out of a rock.

shh stay very still, no one will see us:

In the peat bog, we all ran off to hide, then realized 3 of us had piled on top of each other. I was the houseplant underwater in the foreground. Soul is hiding under me.

Remember our guildie, Gudrun? He's back in the game...just...bigger...than he was!

Then Audra blew him up.

Valltor, heroic sheep slayer.

The guide program did a holiday quest wherein a baby dragon has escaped from his master's house and gone wandering.

Domino created the dragon and it is excellent. Probably the most fun I've had running a quest (though, the Dwarven drinking contest is a riot) and RP'ing a (cheeky) dragon ("a young dragon," this is for you!).

I should have frapsed him running - it is ridiculously cute (think "boing! boing! boing!).

Christmas rolled around and we did a Secret Santa dealie (got a bit borked with the folks who left the guild...Soul and I had tossed our lists & had to scramble to rematch people up...then some of them never came back from Christmas vacation. /doh!!). That was "revealed" (sort of!) at the Christmas party at Nin's house, then followed by ...you guessed it...more hide & seek (it's fun seeing where people hide):

Of course, everyone dragged out every illusion they could find to blend.

And some blended a bit TOO well. Casee (Audra) is inside the barrel.

Um, what did you just say?

Oh har har... ok, I actually did laugh when I saw this.

I lost my spirit bear in Jarsath Wastes... /strum guitar

There's a quest in Fens, I won't say which one, but it has a little surprise at the end.

I did my usual "click through the text and go on my way" thing and turned in the quest. A few minutes later I'm fighting away and realize I have a ...friend.

I had a screenie somewhere of a /say window full of Shortyspam, but I seem to have misplaced it.

This group of epic adventurers is hilarious, right up till they go agro and come after you. <3 Ludmilla.

Pirate costume from the LON loot cards:

Tangrin has a special... thing...going on.

Swimming with sharks. MUCH cooler than swimming with dolphins.

Ok, enough of your cheek.

When you get to Jarsath Wastes...UNEQUIP your stupid sledgemallet (ports you to Danak)!!
This is from the middle of a General V'Deers fight. OOPS.
We got back on time to see another group kill it (of course).

*moves down the officer lounge couch...away from Casee*

Woushi, healing himself up nicely on every fresh chewy raider he eats.

So...Devestation Fist works on heroics now. Too bad it doesn't work on nameds. Monk decap ftw!

Yes, I actually took a screenshot because I loved the color scheme in the zone. Incidentally, it's nearly the same color as my kitchen. /nerd

Lazing around waiting for raiders to turn up.

Shuu nearly disappeared completely:

This horse also FD's.

24 people on the way to Thuuga.

The best purchase Soul has ever made in the game was the rhino. First, the rhino itself looks like one of our pet rats, Hitch. Secondly, watching this little rat cling to the rhino as it gallops all over is something I'll never get tired of. I need a fraps of Soul and Rell (Ogre) riding off on their Rhinos.

This guy was part of a group that volunteered to help us out on a "wth, why not" 7 man (I think that included Shuu's dirgebot) "raid" on Hurricanus one day. We were goofing off just to see how far we'd get it. A tank in the group said he had people waiting on him for Unrest and would we mind if they joined us. I said sure wth, why not? So some of that group joined us, including this defiler.
He started mouthing off and ordering folks around in raid chat, then started up in tells, so after "have a nice day" I kicked him from raid.

He turned out to be second...LOWEST...on the heal parse. A defiler. MT group. The only person his "exceptional" skills beat, was the super casual solo templar who came along for the ride.

I'm still trying to figure out how Aftermath killing him without the orb makes them assholes. LOL

A week or so ago, I hear his name pop up again in guild chat. A guildie had agreed to sell him a master at a 20plat discount - but, being Saturday, got caught up and missed the meeting place. She'd taken the spell of the broker for him, no money had exchanged hands & this guy goes straight to an officer to complain about her "ripping him off" then claims he was "100% polite about the situation." Uh huh. Reactionary a bit much?

At night, in Fens, ghost dragons come out to play.

LOL Warm fuzzies from a player for sassing him back:

Audra kindly volunteered me to jump first, here.

Teran's Grasp Wallpaper

In city of mist... there's some interesting pathing:

Another amusing story - though not for the other group. We had some leapfrog action in Karnor's Castle one night going after a named. Long story short, the other group nabbed it.

Btw, did you know Sergeant Levik has a HUGE knockback? Not "kickback a few feet" on this guy, it's a "hit you out of the ballpark" knockback...and that is exactly what he did.

The tank turned away from the wall, Levik wound up, swung and thwacked the guy like a tin can rocket out of the upper left corner of the picture. The necro in the group tried to step in and hold it and eventually got eaten...then another plate wearer stepped in (templar? I forget), but forgot to put his back into the wall, and got shot out the lower left side.

It was kinda like watching someone at a driving range pegging balls all over the place. The third group member went straight left. They were scattered all over the zone.

So nice when it happens to someone else for a change. LOL (sorry sorry bad karma!)
